Mother’s Day 2021
The God who sees!
God sees your day! Every grilled cheese sandwich cut in triangles knowing only 1/3 of it will actually be eaten. Every buckle on every cute little sandal wrapped around a little foot. Every seatbelt you latch without smooshing a little finger. Every quick hug knowing they are growing up to be independent to walk out the door without you.
God sees your smile! Every smile for every trial and fail. Every cheesey grin for every win in someone else life. Every time your heart smiles when you witness love or kindness or hope or joy or peace.
God sees your tears. Every tear you cry for someone young or old. every tear dedicated to a friend or a foe. Every tear for yourself when you sit in your car alone and turn the music up too loud, cry scream holler and get some ice, go home and love your people.
God sees your pain! Every tender moment while bandaging a scratched knee after the game. Or every ache and ailment of the body that has been sacrificed to care for someone else. Every painful argument replayed to only hope it could somehow be redeemed and restored. Every hurtful word taken in and let go of so peace will rule and reign the day...and your heart.
God sees your hope! Every thought of doubt that is entertained and dismissed. Every confident moment destroyed for fear of pride. Every longing and desire for the perfect moment for all the people in your life. Every hope for dreams and wishes and miracles.
God sees You! He made your dna just so you can laugh just like you do. He made your eyes to be the perfect color for Him to gaze at you. He made you perfectly in his image so he can love you right where you are in your day, with your smile, through your tears in your pain and in your hope! He is EL Roi the God who sees you!

Connecting the Dots of Life
Connecting the dots is a simple activity moms do all the time with their kids.
For a mom connecting the dots means a life of connecting hearts, meals, friendships, conversations, love, and staying connected between moments, days, weeks, months and year after year.
Connection, for her, is her security.
As a hopeful mom she learns to pay attention to her basal body temperature in the hopes of double pink lines.
As a young mom she is secure when she ensures her baby hits every proper age, stage and percentile.
As an elementary, middle school and high school mom she spouts off spelling words, fixes science projects and orders corsages all while making dinner and connecting the dots of life.
The young adult mom might get more sleep but less rest when giving over control to someone who she knows is not ready for a world of their own dots.
An adult mom starts over in her worry of age and stage of her grand babies, willing to help with spelling words, and projects all the while still making dinner for them and her own empty home.
Her security is still connection.
Connection is the powerful moment her body begins to grow another human and she has a love deeper than she has ever known before.
Connection comes she hears the voice repeat back the spelling words, the closeness of fixing the project together and the moment the corsage picture is taken as the teen connects with someone else.
Her security is not control but connection to her family, her kids and her grandkids.
See a mothers security is not her simply her own connection but the enjoyment that comes when her family connects with others.
She longs to connect the dots of life.
There is always room for one more dot on her page and her hope is that someone will retrace her picture again and again with her…connecting every age and stage of her own life, having compassion for her while she navigates the science project of her own body and maybe give her a corsage to connect.
Many times when a mom connects all the dots for others she is only left with a picture or memory to look at in a quiet house.
But her hope and security is that someone will show up and help connect the dots of her life too.
She is a mother created by the Lord God Almighty connecting the dots of life.
